グアム最強決定戦「グアム・コパデマリアナス」、DJジャクソンがギ＆ノーギでＷゴールド

グアム・コパデ・マリアナスは、マリアナスオープンと比べてローカル向けの大会という位置付けで、海外からの招聘選手は出場しない。

しかしグアムの強豪選手が多数エントリーし、まさに“グアム最強決定戦”と呼ぶにふさわしい大会となった。

今大会のアダルトカテゴリー・オープンクラス優勝者には、日本で開催される「マリアナスプロ名古屋」出場のためのトラベルパックが贈呈されることもあり、各階級で激しい戦いが展開された。

アダルト黒帯オープンクラスではDJジャクソンがギとノーギの両部門で優勝し、Ｗゴールドを獲得、日本行きのトラベルパックを手にしている。

また大会の合間には、マリアナスシリーズ年間表彰にあたる「アスリート・オブ・ジ・イヤー」の表彰も行われ、ティアナ・アダモスとリオ・レイジェスが受賞。

ティアナは今年のIBJJFヨーロピアンでジュブナイル１青帯で優勝し、グアム勢として初のヨーロピアン王者となった実績を持つ。

一方のリオも、昨年のIBJJFアジアキッズで優勝しており、すでにグアム国外でも活躍する国際的な選手として注目を集め始めている。

3月14日（土）、愛知県武道館で開催される「グアム・マリアナスプロ名古屋」には、グアムからDJ、ティアナ、リオの３選手も参戦予定で、その試合内容に大きな注目が集まる。

なお「グアム・マリアナスプロ名古屋」のアダルトカテゴリー・オープンクラス優勝者などには、10月にグアムで開催される賞金トーナメント「グアム・マリアナスオープン」出場のためのトラベルパックが贈呈される。

「グアム・マリアナスプロ名古屋」は現在エントリー受付中で、最終締め切りは3月4日まで。グアム行きを目指す選手は、この機会に参戦してみてはいかがだろうか。

Guam Copa de Marianas is positioned as a tournament mainly for local competitors when compared to the Marianas Open, and does not feature invited athletes from overseas.

However, many of Guam’s top competitors entered the event, making it a tournament truly worthy of being called a “Guam’s Strongest Championship.”

Because the winner of the Adult Open Class received a travel package to compete in the “Marianas Pro Nagoya” held in Japan, fierce battles unfolded across all divisions.

In the Adult Black Belt Open Class, DJ Jackson won both the Gi and No-Gi divisions to capture double gold and earned a travel package to Japan.

During the event, the annual Marianas Series awards ceremony for “Athlete of the Year” was also held, with Tiana Adamos and Rio Reyes receiving the honors.

Tiana became the first athlete from Guam to win a European title after claiming victory in the Juvenile 1 Blue Belt division at this year’s IBJJF European Championship.

Meanwhile, Rio won the IBJJF Asia Kids Championship last year and has already begun to gain recognition as an international-level competitor outside Guam.

At the “Guam Marianas Pro Nagoya,” to be held on Saturday, March 14 at Aichi Prefectural Budokan, DJ, Tiana, and Rio are all scheduled to compete, drawing major attention to their upcoming matches.

In addition, winners of the Adult Open Class and other selected divisions at “Guam Marianas Pro Nagoya” will receive travel packages to compete in the prize-money tournament “Guam Marianas Open,” scheduled to be held in Guam this October.

Registration for “Guam Marianas Pro Nagoya” is currently open, with the final deadline set for March 4. Athletes aiming for a chance to compete in Guam are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.

本土からグアムへ移住した“DJ”デアロンジオ・ジャクソン（アライアンストレーニングセンター・アカデミー）は、昨年のマリアナスオープン王者。今大会ではギとノーギの両部門で優勝し、Ｗゴールドを獲得するとともに、日本行きのトラベルパックを手にし、久しぶりの来日が決定。

“DJ” De'Alonzio (Alliance Training Center Academy), who relocated from the U.S. mainland to Guam, is last year’s Marianas Open champion. At this tournament, he won both the Gi and No-Gi divisions to secure double gold and a travel package to Japan, confirming his long-awaited return to compete in Japan.

大会の合間には「アスリート・オブ・ジ・イヤー」のアワードセレモニーも実施され、今年はリオ・レイジェスとティアナ・アダモスの２名が受賞。両者ともに、すでにグアム国外の国際大会でも実績を残すトップ選手として知られている。

An “Athlete of the Year” awards ceremony was also held during the event, with Rio Reyes and Tiana Adamos selected as this year’s recipients. Both athletes are already well known as top competitors with proven success in international tournaments outside Guam.

グアムを代表する選手へと成長したティアナ・アダモス（ATOS GUAM）は、ギとノーギで計３個の金メダルを獲得。ノーギでは女子アダルト青帯オープンクラスで優勝、ギでは女子アダルト青帯ヘビー＆オープンクラスで優勝している。

T'ana Adamos (Atos Guam), who has grown into one of Guam’s representative athletes, captured a total of three gold medals in both Gi and No-Gi divisions. She won the Women’s Adult Blue Belt Open Class in No-Gi and claimed gold in the Women’s Adult Blue Belt Heavyweight and Open Classes in Gi.

両親が黒帯で、弟も柔術をやっている柔術一家出身のリオ・レイジェス（Figo'／Bonsai）は、ギ・ノーギともに圧勝でＷゴールドを獲得。極めの好機を逃さず、確実にフィニッシュへつなげる決定力が強みだ。今後のさらなる活躍にも期待がかかる。

Rio Reyes (Figo’ / Bonsai), who comes from a jiu-jitsu family with black belt parents and a younger brother who also trains, dominated both Gi and No-Gi divisions to win double gold. His greatest strength lies in his finishing ability—never missing opportunities to secure submissions. Even greater success is expected from him in the future.

アダルト茶帯ミドル＆オープンクラス優勝のゴンザロ・キンタニラ（ATOS GUAM）もＷゴールドでトラベルパック獲得。オープンクラスでは対格差のある相手からも勝利しており、グアム最強の茶帯が日本に乗り込んでくる。

Gonzalo Quintanilla (Atos Guam), winner of the Adult Brown Belt Middleweight and Open Classes, also achieved double gold and earned a travel package. In the Open Class, he defeated opponents with significant size advantages, and Guam’s strongest brown belt will now head to Japan.

レノラ・マタナネ（Figo'／Bonsai）とトレーシー・マタナネ（ATOS GUAM）は親戚同士だが、試合となれば真剣勝負。女子アダルト黒帯オープンクラス決勝で対戦し、腕十字による一本勝ちで日本行きを決めた。

Lenora Matanane (Figo' / Bonsai) and Tracy Matanane (Atos Guam) are relatives, but when they step onto the mat, it is a serious contest. They faced each other in the Women’s Adult Black Belt Open Class final, where Lenora secured a submission victory by armbar to earn her ticket to Japan.

今大会の後にジム名をATOSグアムからカーブスジウジツグアムに改称しリニューアル。このカーブスジウジツグアムからは数多くのトラベルパック獲得者を輩出し、大勢で来日予定だ。

After this tournament, the gym will be rebranded and relaunched under the new name Carbs Jiu Jitsu Guam, changing from its former name Atos Guam.Carbs Jiu Jitsu Guam has already produced a large number of travel package winners, and many of its athletes are scheduled to travel to Japan as a group.
