グアム最大の賞金トーナメントは総額５万ドルの熱戦、DJジャクソンとペッサーニャが頂点に

毎年秋に定期開催されている「マリアナスオープン」は高額な賞金が賭けられており、人気の大会だ。

今年は10/18（土）、UOGカルボフィールドハウスにて開催され、参加者数は1000人を超え、マット数は8面となり過去最大規模となった。

今年からマリアナスオープンはASJJF傘下のオフィシャルトーナメントとなり、賞金総額5万ドル以上のビッグトーナメントとして開催されている。

今大会で最も高額な賞金が賭けられていたアダルト黒帯のオープンクラスは男女とも優勝賞金1万ドルで、男子の決勝戦はDJジャクソンとアンソニー・クルーズのグアム勢同士の対戦となり、DJがポイントでアンソニーに勝利。

女子は昨年度の王者であるフェルナンダ・クリストとガブリエリ・ペッサーニャの顔合わせで、ペッサーニャがフットロックでフェルナンダを瞬殺して賞金を獲得している。

この賞金は大会翌日のアワードセレモニーでキャッシュで手渡され、両者とも顔をほころばせていた。

The annual Marianas Open held every fall, is a popular tournament featuring substantial prize money.

This year's event took place on Saturday, October 18th, at UOG Calvo Field House. With over 1,000 competitors and 8 mats, it was largest tournament to date.

Starting this year, Marianas Open became an official tournament under ASJJF, held as a major tournament with a total prize pool of $52,500.

Adult Black Belt Open Class, featuring the highest prize money at this event, offered $10,000 for both the male and female champions. The male's final was an all-Guam showdown between DJ Jackson and Anthony Cruz, with DJ defeating Anthony on points.

Femal's final featured last year's champion Fernanda Cristo against Gabrieli Pessanha. Pessanha submitted Fernanda with a foot lock in an instant, claiming the prize money.

This prize money was handed over in cash at the awards ceremony the day after the tournament, leaving both winners beaming.

アダルト黒帯オープンクラスはDJジャクソンとアンソニークルーズの対戦。奇しくも両者ともグアム在住のローカル選手同士の顔合わせとなった。

試合はアンソニーのガードゲームを制してトップポジションをキープしたDJが判定勝ち。賞金１万ドルを獲得した。

女子のオープンクラス決勝戦は昨年度の王者であるフェルナンダ・クリストとガブリエリ・ペッサーニャの初対戦が実現。

引き込んだペッサーニャのフットロックが極まってわずか21秒で一本勝ち。ペッサーニャが圧倒的な強さで賞金を奪取。

賞金は大会翌日に行われたアワードセレモニーで現金で手渡された。だがブラジル国籍のペッサーニャには税金が30％も課せられるとのことだ。
